A note from the Director,
Welcome to the Rock-a-Baby website. We're celebrating our one year anniversary this month and we want to send a sincere thanks to everyone who made this possible. Special thanks to the folks at the JCC, the New York Kids Club, and the JCP Downtown: Dana, Heather, Heidi, Patty, Joan, Joy, Larisse, Josh, Pam, Crystal, Elina, Andrea, and Sarah. Without you the programs would not have even been able to run, and run smoothly at that. And to the parents who registered for classes, thank you for coming, spreading the word, and helping to make each class a fun and safe environment for everyone. We have the most interactive and coolest parents of any class in New York! And thank you to the wee ones with whom we rock out and experience music forty five minutes a week. What we get in return is incomparable: smiles, laughter, enthusiasm, and unbridled, innocent and unapologetic love for music and life. That's really the best part of Rock-a-Baby - seeing you have a great time!
Something that makes Rock-a-Baby so special and unique is the amazing talent and personal touch each teacher brings to the program every day, sometimes earlier than they'd like, especially after a late night gig , or long weekend. Dan, Eva, Ben, Joann, and Tracey, thank you for caring so much about the project and bringing all that energy with you in and out of the classroom.
I would like to extend a welcoming cyber-hand to our newest teachers: Mikey and Adam, who you can find in the bio section . They will be rocking the piano in my place, as I forge ahead into the new and exciting world of parenthood. You heard right - Stephanie and I are having our first baby in the coming weeks, so there will be some new faces to take my place. And these guys are great!
For fall previews, concerts and open houses, mark these dates on your calendar:
Please call ahead as space is limited and fills quickly
Friday, Sept. 19th - NY Kids Club , Brooklyn Heights - 4:15pm
All in all, this was a very exciting year in my life and I am so happy to have been able to share it with so many wonderful people. I hope Rock-a-Baby continues to grow, so we can meet new friends, and share new and fun experiences together. I wish you all a great "back-to-school" season. Please contact me, or any of the Rock-a-Baby teachers through our contact page with any questions, comments or suggestions. Until our fall session begins, enjoy your warm days while you still have them!
Thank you,
Marc Trachtenberg
